It was a family decision to create Taste of Ukraine to share the rich Ukrainian heritage that we grew up with and learned to nurture and love. Food is a central component of the Ukrainian experience. Ukrainian hospitality revolves around good food and plenty of it.
This establishment is good quality food, good service and a authentic feel. The pork and cabbage rolls are to die for. I highy recommend this resteraurt! I am glad they opened one here in St. Albert. The prices are very affordable even low compared to the portions of food you received. Me and my wife had a great time. The servers didn't bother us, every two minutes like commercial resteraunt chain. Deals in the menu give you the opportunity to mix up you dishes to your desired, this is a can't miss for a Ukrainian experience.
At the Taste of Ukraine, you not only get to enjoy great, authentic Ukrainian food, but you also get to spend an evening immersed in Ukrainian culture. The restaurant, with its wall-to-wall murals, beautiful art and culturally important artifacts on display, will have you feeing like you’ve been transported to a village in the Ukraine for the evening. A family run business, Taste of Ukraine works very hard to give its customers not just food, but a culinary experience. Also, if you love Ukrainian food but hate eating out, ask about their frozen options available for pick up.
Located in St. Albert, this authentic Ukrainian restaurant makes some tasty pyrohy (perogies). With a few varieties to choose from, we recommend the simple potato and onion or potato and cottage cheese.
This family-run Ukrainian restaurant started out in Edmonton in 2004 but moved to St. Albert in 2011. They continue to celebrate their Ukrainian heritage and love of good food in the new location. Favourite appetizers include the deep fried mini perogies, stuffed with potato and cheddar, and the baklazhan rolls, a traditional dish of grilled eggplant slices rolled up with a garlic mushroom filling. They also sell frozen cabbage rolls, perogies and pyrizhky, buns filled with potato, to take home. They even have some celiac-friendly options on the menu.
