Against The Grain Urban Tavern - Harbourfront

1
25 Dockside Dr, Toronto, ON M5A 0B5

This casual, comfy Corus building fave invites beach-lovin’ fans to come by and munch on such Winterlicious-inspired extravagances as a salt-and-pepper calamari tacos, red Thai coconut curry and house-made pistachio ice cream while regarding the frozen state of the beach in their line of vision. Lots of international and local brews help dull the pain that comes with realizing how far afield summer still is.

The Brownstone

2
601 Yonge St, Toronto, ON M4Y 1Z5

Equal parts comfy and funky, Brownstone offers up some pretty special pleasures on its Winterlicious menu. Think salmon tartar and shrimp crostini starters, veal cutlet and locally sourced chicken Francaise mains and a banana tempura closer that’ll have you swinging from the rafters.

Mildred's Temple Kitchen

3
104-85 Hanna Ave, Toronto, ON M6K 3S3

Don’t squander your precious Winterlicious bucks at just any joint with a shingle and a beer tap. At this big, bright Liberty Village hip hangout, staff takes food seriously, and the attitude is evidenced with special dishes like coffee and black olive caramel-glazed baby back ribs, duck tacos and, natch, the much-celebrated MTK burger.

On a cold, snowy Edmonton night, nothing says lovin’ like a cup of hot chocolate. It’s no surprise this drink was originally dubbed the “elixir of the gods.” Regardless of the variety you select, or whether you opt for the simplest hot chocolate on the menu, all I can say is ... don’t forget the marshmallows.
