Our wee yorkie "T.J." started a terrible cough and was having trouble breathing.. Unfortunately our family vet was in surgery and not available on this particular day?. We called 4 other veterinary clinics in the area and all of them said "sorry, no appts available" we couldn't believe that even being an extreme emergency (difficulty breathing) we were being turned away! When we called Durham vet clinic they welcomed us with open arms and was being assessed and treated a couple hours later!❤️ Read more

We are not patients at Cavan but our vet was away so had to bring our dog here after another dog attacked us. After waiting untreated at Kawartha Veterinary Emergency Clinic for over six hours, we left and went to Cavan. Upon arrival, we were taken in promptly, our dog was treated and we were sent home with care instructions. The compassion and professionalism shown by Dr. Kalish was second to none. I'm so thankful he treated Linc's injuries as an emergency! Would highly recommend! Read more

Called about my cat (Acer) urinary issue, they booked him in the next day (closest availability), Noticed he couldn’t go in the litter box. I called back an hour later and explained his symptoms became worse. They told me to bring him in immediately and they’ll try to fit him in between appointments. I rushed over 10 min away and they were ready the moment I walked in. They said it was caught early enough and fixed him up in a few hours. (No surgery) Saved me $$ and my pet. Amazing staff. I’m 1997 I bought a dog from the humane society that was sick I took her to PPH and had her tested for parvovirus, she tested positive. I was advised that my dog would require treatment up to 5 days. I explained I was in between jobs, and couldn’t afford the cost. Dr. McD told me to bring her in and they would treat her for free!!! 4 daily trips to PPH.
