Easy fixes for stroller stains and smells

It's no secret babies can be messy, so it is only natural your baby stroller will end up with a few stains and bad smells. Keep your stroller clean and smelling fresh with the below tips for stained strollers.

Spruce it up with some quick cleanups

Snacks, drinks, mud and worse will inevitably take their toll on the stroller's upholstery.

• Clean the seat area using the nozzle attachment of your vacuum to get into as many nooks and crevices as you can.
• If you can remove the seat covers and canopy, take them off and wash them on a gentle, cool cycle in your washing machine. Put the covers back on the stroller while they are still damp in case they shrink as they dry. Leave the stroller outside in a sunny spot to dry.
• If you can't remove the covers, clean them with warm, soapy water and a cloth. Use an old toothbrush to get into seams and corners.
• A nailbrush or stiff toothbrush dipped in warm, soapy water will dislodge the grime on webbing straps, which can be difficult to clean.
• Use antibacterial wipes to clean the frame and any plastic parts.

Bring the freshness back

Food and drink spills can make unpleasant odours emanate from your stroller. Treat any smells with a liquid solution of baking soda and water; spray it onto the affected area using a clean, empty spray bottle, or apply it with a cloth, then wipe it off with another clean cloth. You can also use baking soda and just a little water mixed to a paste to scrub away stubborn stains.
