Best Chinese in Brantford (and we've been looking)

Have been looking for a good Chinese place that delivers since we moved to the area in 2000 and we think we've found it. Restaurant was quiet and service was knowledgeable, attentive, and a pleasure to speak to. Bei Jing has an excellent menu that was't too busy, and good, plentiful food on every plate. Wonton soup was a standout, as was the spicy chicken. Best of all, we learned they deliver to outskirts and beyond, which will make them our "go to Chinese place" when we want to order in to the rural Brant county.

Not The Best

After reading all of the great reviews for this place, I thought I would give it a try. I went during the week for dinner. When I walked in, the place was empty, no one was seated. There was the server behind the desk talking to a customer. I went up to the desk and I had to get a menu from the top of the desk, I wasn't even offered one. I told the server I would be dining in. I ordered the fried wonton for an appetizer, and the lemon chicken for the main course. As I was waiting for my items to arrive, I noticed about 6 or 7 people walk in for take-out. It seems to me as though this place is more of a take-out place then a dine-in place. As each person came in to take their food away, the server would speak to them for a lengthy amount of time, most of it was about other restaurants and how badly run they are. The server wasn't discrete about it either, he spoke freely without being worried about who was listening. My fried wonton came about 10 minutes after I ordered it. Then, about 1 minute after the fried wonton came, the lemon chicken arrived. I was hoping to have the fried wonton a lot earlier than the lemon chicken considering it was an appetizer. The fried wonton wasn't too good, the meat inside wasn't too tasty. The lemon chicken was drenched in lemon sauce, I couldn't even taste the chicken, all I tasted was the lemon sauce. I have to admit, the portion sizes are huge, and the prices are reasonable, I only paid $10.50 for what I ordered, and I was beyond stuffed. The server always came to my table to refill my water, so I definitely liked that. The decor of the place was really outdated, and it seemed as though the server was only interested in chatting to customers about the town's happenings. I definitely wouldn't come back to this place, the food wasn't the greatest, and the atmosphere wasn't good either.

Best chinese in Brantford

I frequently dine at Bei jeng both in the restaurant and for take out. The restaurant is average decor, its quiet and very relaxing. It has never been over packed and we have never had to wait for a seat. The owner is very friendly and always makes you feel at home. He will even remember you the next time you go there. There has never been a long wait for the food. The portions are always more than what you can eat, even when its take out. I have to say I never had a bad experience with them and I am a very dedicted patron. If ever your in the mood for chinese I would definately check Bei jeng out!

Amazing food @ reasonable prices

This place has amazing foods & very reasonable prices. We ordered a dinner for 5 & ended up with enough food to feed 7 people. I cannot believe how huge their portion size is. You definitely get your moneys worth at this place. Fast deliver service too!
