This is a fun place to meet with friends. The food was great and service was good. They have a nice variety of appetizers. We haven't had a supper there yet but on Tuesdays if you like curry they have a buffet. We are going to try it sometime.
We really liked the atmosphere of this pub and the food was reasonably priced. The garlic bread was amazing and the burger, salad and fries were also good. The hot beef sandwich was really not good though, the beef didn't really taste right and I felt kind of sick for the rest of the night after eating it. Our server was okay, but not very personable. When we asked him what beer was on tap, he told us to read the menu! I think that the servers should know what is on tap and be able to tell people when they ask. We would give this pub another chance, but I definitely won't be ordering the hot beef!
Last year I lived above the Penny Whistle in the Park Mall Apartment, during which time I was a frequent patron and fan of their outstanding service and food. I returned from an extended working holiday last night, only to receive some of the worst service I have ever received in a restaurant. The restaurant was at max at half capacity on a Saturday night and it took just under forty-five minutes for our food to arrive. When it finally did arrive, a friend's butter chicken was missing and took another five minutes before it reached the table. If the food is going to take the better part of an hour to arrive, one person should not be left plateless with everyone around him or her with their meals. I will never return to the Penny Whistle and suggest you save your money and time for a restaurant that understands the basics of hospitality better.
I eat Indian here often (and love it) and this was the first time getting their buffet. The rice and naan wasn't as good as the stuff that you get with your normal meal. The butter chicken was great. They had some kind of eggplant dish there and it was too dry. I think next time I'll stick to the reliably good menu dishes.
