Worst customer service. I dropped off my boots, came back 3 WEEKS later, and nothing had been done. When I told them I was supposed to be able to pick them up by now, he called me a liar and threatened to kick me out. I got a refund and left because I didn't trust that he could now do a good job. He had told me they would be ready later that day. You can't tell me I'm going to get quality work in 4 hours after he's treated me so rudely. I will never take any work back there.
Zero customer service. This person is so rude i would learn to fix shoes myself rather than bringing them to him. I never seen anybody treating customers with such arrogance and bad manners
I chose The Art of Shoe Repair because it is a convenient location for me; however, I will never bring another pair of shoes there again. EVER. My shoes have come back to me a complete mess two out of three times. The first time, I brought in a brand new pair of beige shoes that were too loose around my ankle. I sat down to be fitted; I specified that I wanted the shoes to fit snuggly, but with some give around the ankle for when I walked. When I was satisfied with the measurements, I paid and left. I picked them up and was horrified to find that a blue pen was used to mark the strap at the point it needed to be cut and adjusted. The stitching was a complete mess and the strap was cut too short (the strap fit too tightly!), even after the gentlemen and I measured so carefully! I brought them back and they attempted to rectify the issue of the short strap, but the bright blue pen marks were permanent. The second time, they quickly and neatly replaced my worn heels. The third and final time, was with a pair of slingback flats. The elastics were stretched out and needed replacing on both sides; I specified matching elastic lengths, of course. When I picked them up, the elastics didn't match! The left shoe was 1.25" and the right shoe was at 1". From now on, I plan to find a place that cares about work(wo)manship and will pay attention to details.
I dropped a pair of kid water shoes off here to be glued, knowing that I didn't want to spend hardly any money on them to be fixed. The girl who took them had no clue how much it would cost, I gave her instructions to call me on my cell before any work was done. After 3 days with no call, we called to find out the shoes had been fixed already and apparently the phone number I left didn't work. Then after my husband hung up, my cell phone rang. I guess the number worked after all because it was the guy from the shoe place telling me the shoes were ready. He told me the price and although it wasn't a crazy amount, it was more than I wanted to spend. When I told him I could get a pair of used kids water shoes for less than he charged me to fix those ones, I was told "well people don't bring me their old shoes to fix if they can get ones cheaper." Exactly my point. I wouldn't have bothered to get those fixed if it was going to cost more than I was willing to pay. This guy has poor customer service. From now on, it will be worth the drive to go somewhere else.
