The history of the Musée régional de Rimouski began on August 7 1969 with the approval of the City, the directors of the Technical School Rimouski expressed a desire to establish a regional museum. A year later, demolition and renovation were launched. The old tin roof was demolished, we removed the covering of walls and interior partitions were subtracted, leaving only the original building envelope and save interesting architectural remains. Stone walls revealed the location of several elements of the church that had been blocked by the needs of the time.
