Nice place to go during valentines day. I took my wife on valentines to La Grotta restaurant.We go grilled calamari and the rack of lamp and pasta With beef. It was very tasty and delicious.The restaurant was very busy but still the the service was excellent and well served and well cooked food.The server was very friendly and fast.me and my wife really enjoyed being there.The atmosphere is as usual good with soft music.I usually go there in the summer,sitting in the patio.It is a wonderful experience.
First time in the restaurant recommended by a friend of mine. I ve been to others in the street but didnt have an experience like this. I normally write something when I am not happy but this time I thought of giving thumps up to you guys. I took my girlfriend on tuesday feb 14 valentines night. Food was great, I had the grilled calamari and the rack of lamb, they were delicious. My girlfriend ordered the portobello and cheese appetizer, and the Porkloin. Although she isnt much into cheese, we decided to give it a try and we were very happy, it was nice and light. Atmosphere was great, very cozy, felt like in Italy like our last holiday. The restaurant was extremely busy and now we now why. Service was very attentive and professional. We will definitely comeback and let our friend know, we love Unionville.
It was my boyfriends b day so i took him to La grotta restaurant with his parents. When we got there we was so happy because of the classicist of the restaurant. Then the waiter and the food was like i was back at home in Italy or i like to say Italia. After the we were finish eating i didn't want to go home because of there fantasist food and there very friendly waiters.
I tried this restaurant for the first time... Our company Cristmas party. The service was OK although I found the owner to be a bit abrasive. The fixed menu for lunch was $25.00. I requested the regular lunch menu. After a couple of use complained, the waiter reluctantly brought the regular lunch menu over. The menu had good prices and more selection.On the back was another fixed menu exactly the same as the Christmas menu, except it was $5.00 less. I feel this price hike on the Chrismas fixed menu is a way of taking advantage of customers and for that reason I will never eat there again
Today at lunchtime we went to la grotta restaurant for our Christmas get together. We were glad we chose to go there because the service was friendly and made us feel at home. The food was to die for. We had their priced fixed menu and also ordered off their regular menu. we had veal,linguine with clams,lasagna,vegetarian pizza,tiramisu and sorbet. My friend also wanted a gluten free dish and she was very well accomodated. Their homemade bread had just been made and it smelled and tasted amazing. Their food is truly homemade. We also ordered ripasso wine which was served in a beautiful decanter. When we left I booked a reservation for a different day but it was hard because they had many lunches and dinners booked up. Frank,the owner, is truly a professional who knows how to take care of his guests and he never tried to upsell us. we will certainly spread the good word around.
